Work is in full swing - meeting in Slovenia

The last six months have been filled with intensive and multifaceted work - so we unanimously decided that the time had come for a meeting of all involved in the project. At the invitation of Prof. Matija Strilič's team, the Polish part of the project visited Ljubljana to jointly summarize the work done so far and choose the most important directions for further development.

We began the meeting by exchanging previous results and expert opinions, as each group used different methods to characterize the samples. This systematization of data allowed us to fill in blanks, better understand the transformations taking place during the aging of samples, as well as come up with ideas for a more complete study of objects made of poly(vinyl chloride).

The main goal of this trip to Slovenia was to develop detailed steps for the non-invasive analysis of objects in museum collections. The combination of the scientists' extensive knowledge and the range of available methods made it possible to propose some of the most accurate sets of instructions possible, which will soon be tested not only on phantom samples but also on real ones, directly from museums.

The icing on the cake of the meeting was a visit to the rich laboratories of the University of Ljubljana, as well as at least a partial tour of this culturally rich capital of Slovenia. Although there is still a lot of work ahead of us, each such meeting brings us closer to achieving our many goals and motivates us to continue exploring :)
